Les Mélèzes are brand new chalet apartments in the last chalet (only 4 chalets) to be built near the ski lifts in Thollon-Les-Mémises village. You can ski back to the chalet and these charming apartments offer unique views on Lake Geneva (straight from the ground floor which is equivalent to a first floor) or back onto the little forest at the foot of the mountain. You are only 200 metres from the ski lifts.
These brand new apartments benefit from reduced legal fees/stamp duty (3% instead of 8% on property price) and offer excellent rental potential. These are freehold properties and the prices include VAT. Even though you cannot claim back the VAT on price, the price per square metre is so competitive that there is no need to.
The apartments at Les Mélèzes are set in a traditional Alpine chalet and are sold including a fully-equipped kitchen and also a cave (locked room on the ground floor for each apartment) for storage. You can purchase a numbered parking unit in front of the chalet (2,700€) or an extensive garage for one or two cars in the underground parking (20,000-28,000€). Electricity/water have individual counters so you pay for what you consume.
Thollon-Les-Mémises is ideal all-year-round with the winter and the usual winter sports (ski area offers superb views on Lake Geneva and it is ideal for family skiing) but also in spring, summer and autumn when you have plenty of activities like cycling, trekking, golf, etc. You are also only 30 minutes drive from Switzerland or from La Chapelle/Châtel if you wish to try another ski area.
You can either use a local rental agent to manage your property or use home portals like Booking.com/AirBnb and a la carte services like check-in/check-out, cleaning, bed linen laundry to maximise the rental potential.
There is also a new express train running from nearby Evian to Geneva airport (also the rest of Geneva area) making it easier to get to your apartment quickly. Also, it is an ideal location to get away from it all and resource yourself!
